In short

DashDesk is a CRM and AI reply system, not just a shared inbox. It was founded and is built by Ahmed Sherif Nabhan for local businesses, e-commerce shops and agencies whose customers message on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger rather than sending email or opening tickets.

What does DashDesk do?

DashDesk unifies WhatsApp Business, Instagram Direct, Facebook Messenger and a web chat widget into one inbox, keeps a CRM profile — tags, notes and order history — on every customer, classifies every inbound message with AI, answers the repetitive ones within limits you set, and routes the rest to the agent on shift with a two-line summary.

Why was DashDesk built?

Because helpdesk software assumed email and the customers stopped sending it. A shop that gets two hundred WhatsApp messages and forty Instagram DMs a day cannot run on a ticket queue designed for a 500-seat contact centre, and the alternative — a phone passed between staff — loses history the moment someone leaves.

The design constraint from the start was a team of five, not a team of five hundred: no ticket taxonomy to configure before the first reply, no macro language to learn, and an interface that looks like the chat app the customer is already using.

The second constraint was language. Support in Arabic, German, French or Spanish should not be a plugin, so triage and replies follow whatever language the customer writes in.

Who builds DashDesk?

DashDesk is founded and built by Ahmed Sherif Nabhan. It is an independent product rather than a venture-funded company, which is why the roadmap is narrow on purpose: a shared inbox, AI triage with real guardrails, and team routing — done properly rather than broadly.

How is DashDesk built?

A Next.js web client, a Node API with a Socket.IO realtime gateway, and Postgres on Supabase with row-level security on every tenant table. The API runs in Frankfurt. AI runs on Groq or xAI, configured per deployment.

Roles are enforced by database policy rather than by the interface, so a permission cannot be bypassed by calling the API directly.
